What are Outlander Compliance tags?

Outlander Compliance tags are specially encoded pieces of hardware that utilize near-field communication (NFC) to authenticate the integrity of goods, manage assets, and maintain an immutable data ledger of user engagement with the tag.

How big are the tags?

Tags come in a variety of sizes ranging from a little over .5” to around 2”. Please contact us to inquire about custom sized tags.

Are the tags waterproof?

While not waterproof, our industrial PVC tags offer high levels of water resistance and can withstand significant stress from environmental factors (extreme heat, shock, water exposure, etc.). Please contact us for more details on these and tag solutions.

Do the tags work on metal?

Due to NFC technology limitations, most tags do not work on metal however we do offer some specialty tags that will work normally when placed on metal. Please contact us for more information.

Does Outlander Compliance provide software?

Yes, Outlander Compliance tags were created to go hand-in-hand with our custom built, web-based, Content Management System (CMS). There’s no need to download anything, which allows the system to be accessed from anywhere with your verified email credentials.

Do I need to download an app to scan the tags?

Fortunately, our solutions are web-based and do not require downloading a specialty mobile app. Simply hover the top of your mobile device over the NFC tag and tap the notification that pops up on your screen, which takes you to the secure website.

Do I need a special reader to scan the tags?

Our solutions focus on NFC, which can be read by any modern era smartphone (2010-present). This eliminates the need for expensive hardware (like RFID) that can be broken, stolen or lost.

Do the tags track location?

The majority of our tags are passive, meaning they do not actively track the location of the item. This limits the ability for bad actors to potentially track where sensitive items are being shipped, and is preferred by many agencies.

Can the tags be copied?

They cannot be copied or faked thanks to our rolling encryption keys stored in the tags as part of our solution. Once a scan is registered, all previous scans are invalidated stopping any efforts to counterfeit.

How do Outlander Compliance tags use blockchain technology?

All of our tags are encoded with technology that automatically logs data to a public or privatized blockchain, creating an immutable record of the action that took place.

How much do the tags cost?
